Why attend a training programme?

Training

It’s unfortunate that people believe that their education is complete once they get a degree. Come to think of it, the current education system isn’t designed to give us much in the areas of spirit, systems and skills.

Spiritual education i.e. High-Quality Life Education has always been a rarity in the educational system. But even the systems and the skill training it offers is often outdated. All the current education gives is a degree that acts like a passport to work, to run around helter-skelter and somehow make money, big or small.

Life As It Is

The true purpose of education should be to help us enjoy the gift of life. Devoid of such essential education, life is tough. We have been thrown into the ocean of life that is full of sharks without a raft to safely sail us through. By default, it is more misery and less happiness. Most of us consciously or subconsciously assume that life is supposed to be this way. But the truth can’t be any further than that.

Life As It Can Be

The world is full of extraordinary trainings that can make one’s life beautiful in the areas of health, wealth, relationships and personal growth. There is a full-fledged industry dedicated to these offerings and making life beautiful for millions.

Through these personal trainings, certain areas shift instantly while a certain take a bit more time. God’s delays not being God’s denials, these areas too give way if one inculcates the learnings wisely and follows the regimen one learns through these holistic trainings – be they related to spirit, systems or skills.

Possibilities of training yourself

We can rarely imagine the amount of areas where one could harness the possibility of informal education. Children should be exposed to trainings around Meditation and Breathwork to keep their bodies, minds and spirits healthy. Teenagers should be exposed to appropriate sex education.

A man and a woman who are entering a marriage should ideally go through a training programme that prepares them for the huge amount of adjustments that are going to come in.

Education on enhancing harmony and developing intimacy could do them a world of good. It could save a lot of possible divorces and make the already good marriages better. Even married couples should necessarily undergo such trainings. Everyone in a family should attend programmes and internalize learnings related to enhancing the quality of relationships.

A couple who plans to conceive should learn the space from which they should invite the child into their relationship and also what is in store for the mother once she is pregnant. An expecting mother and father should do programmes on parenting and child development well in advance.

There should be trainings dedicated to people who are entering the professional world – be it joining a corporate or a family business or being a small time solopreneur. I was recently happy to see somebody offering a training helping senior citizens effectively use a cellphone loaded with important applications.

The Mindset Mistake

But most of us shy away from these real education opportunities. We do not plan any budget for such self-education while the truth is that this should be the first item on our agenda. This singular mistake costs us the quality of our lives. We consider these to be wastage of money or unnecessary frills which only the wealthy can afford or feel as to how can somebody else know better about my life or business than myself, to be able to guide me.

It is high time that this mindset changes. You don’t need to wait for the hard knocks to teach you stuff. Nor can everything in life be learnt through experience and even if it does, it can often be too late. Make life-long learning your motto. The world is full of experts to support this motto. Seek them out.
