Lately I’ve been thinking about Ever-lasting life…
Ever-lasting life! How does the idea sound?
Well, it depends on how you are currently experiencing life. Isn’t it? If life is all fun n colours now, why not keep living on n on? But if life is a drag, why should one want ever-lasting life?
Come to think of it, death is a national waste, an existential waste. The universe invests so much into each of us in terms of the experience it gives us, the knowledge bank that keeps going up, the wisdom we gather etc.. Death takes it all away in one blow! Back to square one!
Ever wondered – ‘A person who is born needs to die in a matter of years’ could be an unproductive belief system… I think it very much is. Ram & Sita lived for 10,000 plus years. I guess Dashrath lived for 65,000 years or so.
Even in the current era, there are umpteen yogis in the Himalayas who are known to be alive for 300 years plus. This elite group visits the world of us-lesser mortals in every Kumbha Mela which is their only tryst with the society in a way.
Just because we don’t know the spiritual practices to make it for a few hundred years, we shouldn’t give in to the doctrine of quick mortality. After all, its only a truth that we have told ourself. All death is possibly a suicide… What do you think?
Would you want to choose ever-lasting life, given a chance?
