The Problem with Forgiving too soon

forgiveness

Forgiving too soon leads to a phenomenon called emotional bypass. All your anger and grief gets pushed under the carpet. These unresolved emotions later manifest in life either as health issues or as karmic blockages in the aura manifesting as obstacles in relationships or money.

Hence it is very very important to consciously experience, feel, process and move through the negative for a while until you automatically feel better. Once you experience (and not externalise) these emotions fully, forgiveness is automatic. In some cases, you also require to express your emotions (besides experiencing them) to the concerned person softly or yet better radically.

Once this process is followed, you have an embodied experience of automatic heart-shaped forgiveness vis-a-vis the head-based forgiveness which is often (if not always) only patch-work, particularly in the bigger tragedies of life .

(For expansion of this process, you may look up psychologists like John Welwood and Jeff  Brown or just google  ‘premature forgiveness’ or ‘spiritual bypassing’)
